My ardent love for animals

By Gloria Stovall

Everyone who knows me will enthusiastically agree without hesitation that I love and adore all animals, most ardently.  Even before I became a vegan, I was passionate about animals and their well being; but that fondness significantly blossomed and deepened when I became a vegan.  Many critics say being a vegan is too extreme but I beg to differ as the vegan lifestyle is super healthy, ethical, humane and substantially beneficial for the planet, so why people are critical of the vegan lifestyle is a mystery to me, but regardless of the criticism, I wholeheartedly know becoming a vegan is one of the most important decisions I have ever made.

Have you ever looked intensely into the sorrowful eyes of a helpless animal that was in dire need of being rescued; and you knew without a doubt that precious animal knew they could trust you enough to help them? I can recall this one time years ago, I was sitting in my living room and heard the frantic cry of a mother crow trying to scare off a slender black and white cat that was contemplating attacking a baby crow who was fully feathered; but not yet able to fly, a fledgling. I grabbed an empty box and ran outside as fast as I could; and assessed the situation as my last resort is taking a baby animal away from their parents; but unfortunately I had no choice as I could clearly see the baby crow was in danger and may have already been roughed up a bit by the kitty.

I can still remember looking into the beautiful eyes of the majestic mother crow in the tree and telling her I would take special care of her baby and apologized for having to her precious baby away. I then gently picked up the baby crow and placed him inside of the box and the adorably sweet way he stared into my eyes literally melted my heart as if he knew I was there to help him, not hurt him. The cute feline who was debating attacking him also looked at me and stared at me for quite sometime; and the once frantic mother crow in the tree now seemed to be so calm as if she knew her little baby was in good hands.

Have you ever loved an animal or been loved by an animal? They give us so much joy and truly know how to make us laugh! Animals also love unconditionally, regardless of our appearance, or how much money we have; and they know right away when we are depressed, upset and happy. All animals, not just cats and dogs, are capable of feeling and reciprocating love. I have watched the most endearing videos of adorable dairy cows, chickens, pigs and lambs taking naps with their rescuers; but what I enjoy seeing the most are cows playing soccer with their human friends. I kid you not! Cows are lovable grass puppies that absolutely love playing soccer and fetch; and seeing cows do this will literally make your heart melt.

An ardent love for animals is one of the main reasons why I am so passionate about the vegan lifestyle, and embracing this ethical style of living is not only rewarding and awesome; but also super beneficial for the entire world.

Thank you so much for following my vegan blog! Have a blessed day!
