I regret to be the bearer of unpleasant news, but truth be told as this is a scientifically proven fact, the milk that cows produce is only intended for their babies to consume, not humans. Dairy milk is not designed or intended for humans to consume and it is no surprise one of the main reasons why doctors recommend breast milk over cows’ milk for infants is because the milk that a cow produces does not have the recommended amounts of iron thus causing anemia. Not to mention consuming milk from cows can lead to vitamin C deficiencies and other nutrient deficiencies that humans need to have a healthy immune system. The protein in cow’s milk irritates the lining of our digestive systems; which can cause blood in our stools and not to mention, the fat in cow’s milk is not healthy fat. The unhealthy side effects that humans experience from consuming cow’s milk do not occur in calves and this is because cow’s milk is solely designed and intended for the baby cow. In other words, their bodies were designed to consume the milk their mother’s produce for them. Just as our bodies have been designed to consume the milk our mother’s produced for us.
Humans are not baby cows so why are we consuming cow’s milk? Why are we not more educated about this important topic and why is it so ingrained in our heads that milk is advantageous and beneficial for us? I will tell you why-money. Indeed, the dairy industry has a market value of over 715 billion dollars, so it is no wonder why we are constantly told milk is what our bodies need to thrive. The dairy industry is all about making big money, not our health. They could less about our health. Did you know that consuming dairy milk as adults can lead to osteoporosis as animal protein produces acid when broken down, so for our bodies to flush out these harmful acids from the animal protein it uses the calcium we have stored, thus decreasing our bone mass which leads to bone loss-fragile bones-osteoporosis. Consuming cow’s milk also contributes to heart disease due to the high saturated fat content, increases the probability of being diagnosed with breast, ovarian and prostate cancer.

I can remember before I became a vegan, I would regularly drink cow’s milk and absolutely loved the taste of it; but I did not enjoy the side effects of consuming it including….well putting it politely…flatulence, indigestion, upset stomach, bloating, constipation and I can go on and on. I have not experienced any of those symptoms since going vegan and drinking almond, coconut, cashew and oat milk. Also, plant based milk has more calcium than dairy milk, not to mention vital nutrients and minerals the body needs to thrive. If you are not convinced dairy milk is harmful for your body, regardless of whether or it is organic, I invite you to research the topic yourself, as there is a wealth of information about the dangers of consuming dairy products.
Thank you so much for stopping by today and following my blog! I greatly appreciate it! Have a blessed weekend!
