Vegans are often criticized and persecuted for their lifestyle

Fur babies provide unconditional love and companionship

It is a given fact when you are different from the majority you will experience persecution and criticism.  History has proven this over and over. As a Black woman, I have experienced some persecution in my life; and unfortunately the vegan is not excluded from persecution and quite often the criticism received from non-vegans is extremely rude, cruel and blatantly disrespectful.  I believe it stems from ignorance, as the majority of the human population is not vegan therefore they do not clearly understand what a vegan is or why someone would choose to live a plant-based, cruelty-free and earth-friendly lifestyle.

I obviously cannot speak for every vegan but based on my personal experience and the vegan communities I belong to, we are constantly ridiculed for choosing compassion over cruelty not to mention vegans provide cold-hard facts about the inhumane and unnecessary cruel treatment that innocent farm animals experience on a daily basis. Unfortunately ignorance is bliss and the truth hurts; which is why I believe those who are not vegan are so bitter towards vegans.  If I can be candid, I personally believe they feel a bit threatened and guilty for tremendously contributing to animal suffering and the deterioration of the earth.

To be a successful lifelong vegan, one must have thick skin, in other words, be strong mentally, emotionally and spiritually otherwise the persecution and callous criticism from social media, strangers, colleagues, coworkers and sometimes family members will chip away your self esteem and you will not be able to continue your vegan journey.

I recently wrote an insightful blog entry that clearly conveyed why cow’s milk is only intended for cow babies, not humans. I decided to post that blog entry on social media and let me tell you, I had to delete over twenty obscene, rude and disrespectful comments from complete strangers.  I have thick skin though and not once did I consider removing that blog entry despite the criticism I received; and I plan on writing another blog entry about that same topic in even more depth and detail as the multibillion-dollar dairy industry does not want the public to know that dairy is unhealthy and not necessary for humans to thrive and survive.

Despite the criticism, persecution and negativity I receive on a regular basis, I will never stop living the vegan life or writing about it.  Knowing that I am not contributing to animal suffering and the deterioration of the earth makes living the vegan life well worth it.

Thank you so much for stopping by and following my blog!  I truly appreciate you.  Have a blessed week!
