One major lesson I have learned thus far from living the vegan lifestyle is the importance of being self-reliant, innovative and wise, especially when the products available for vegans are limited, overpriced and well…let’s just say-not always good quality. In addition to animals, I genuinely care about the environment and truth be told, I have discovered that even those who are not vegan are concerned about the environment as well; and using products that are friendly to our planet is key to saving the planet from further destruction.
The good news is that it has never been easier to make your own vegan cruelty-free household products without breaking the bank or a sweat; and what I love most about DIY (do it yourself) products is the reassurance you are in control of the ingredients that are added to the final product.

Apple Cider Vinegar boasts endless health benefits but many do not know this powerful vinegar can also be used to disinfect, clean and deodorize. All you need is a spray bottle and the following ingredients below. Mix all of the ingredients together and use in the bathroom, kitchen, oven, microwave, refrigerator and counters.
Ingredients:
1-cup water
1-cup organic apple cider vinegar
7-10 drops organic citrus essential oil

I am always on the lookout for an affordable vegan and cruelty-free laundry detergent that cleans well, removes stains; and naturally deodorizes but the pickings are super slim so knowing how to concoct your own laundry detergent is definitely a plus.
To make your own vegan cruelty-free laundry detergent all you need is cruelty-free baking soda, cruelty-free Epsom salt and a ½ bar of cruelty-free bar soap. Preheat the oven to 375 F and spread a layer of baking soda on a baking sheet and let heat for an hour. Grate the bar of soap with a carrot grater and combine the soap, Epsom salt and baking soda in a Mason jar. Shake, shake and shake until all of the ingredients are mixed together and you are all done! Best of all you only need to use about 1-2 tablespoons per load of laundry so this detergent will last a lengthy amount of time depending on your laundry needs.
Ingredients:
½ cup cruelty-free baking soda
½ bar of cruelty-free pure Castile bar soap
½ cup cruelty-free Epsom salt
If you are a bit on the obsessive side like me, having a streak-free, clean glass and mirror, especially in the bathroom, is a must; and there is nothing more frustrating than having to clean the glass continuously only to obtain the same result…a dull mirror full of endless streaks. Well that no longer has to be an unsolvable dilemma as a streak-free glass cleaner exists and best of all, it is vegan and cruelty-free!
All you need to make this glass cleaner is distilled organic white vinegar, rubbing alcohol and 2-4 drops of organic lemon and orange essential oil and lukewarm filtered water. In a spray bottle that is at least 24oz, combine the vinegar, alcohol and essential oil. Gently shake or swish the mixture together, lastly fill the remaining of the bottle with the lukewarm filtered water and shake gently for a minute or two. You are all set!
Ingredients:
½ cup organic distilled white vinegar
¼ cup rubbing alcohol
2-4 drops organic lemon and orange essential oil
Lukewarm filtered water

Cleaning without using harmful chemicals is enjoyable, affordable, eco-friendly, cruelty-free and the right thing to do; and there is a plethora of vegan and cruelty-free “do it yourself” product recipes available on the Internet. If you are creative and innovative, you can easily invent your own vegan cruelty-free product recipes and share them with friends and family.
Thank you always for following my blog! I greatly appreciate your support. Have a blessed day!
